Martin Scorsese, Istvan Szabo to be honoured with Satyajit Ray Lifetime Achievement Award

Martin Scorsese and Istvan Szabo will be honoured with Satyajit Ray Lifetime Achievement Award at the 52nd International Film Festival of India (IFFI).

Union Minister for Information and Broadcasting Anurag Thakur has announced that film directors Istvan Szabo and Martin Scorsese will be conferred the Satyajit Ray Lifetime Achievement Award at the 52nd International Film Festival of India (IFFI), which will be held from November 20 to 28 in Goa. Istvan Szabo is one of the most critically acclaimed Hungarian film directors. He is known for masterpieces like Mephisto (1981) Father (1966). Martin Scorsese is one of the major figures of the New Hollywood era, widely regarded as one of the greatest and most influential directors in film history. This will be the first time for IFFI to invite major OTT players to participate in the festival. These include Netflix, Amazon Prime, Zee5, Voot and Sony Liv.
