On this day, six years ago, MS Dhoni completed 100 ODI wins as the Indian captain as India beat Bangladesh, by 109 runs, in their World Cup quarterfinal clash at the MCG.
On March 19, 2015, former cricketer MS Dhoni completed 100 ODI wins as an Indian captain becoming only the third captain in cricket history to do so. Only former Australia captain Ricky Ponting (165 wins) and Allan Border (107 wins) have achieved this feat in ODIs. While Dhoni ended his captaincy career in early 2017 with 110 ODI wins as a captain, his 100th win in the 50-over format as skipper came six years on this exact day. India beat Bangladesh by 109 runs at the Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG) in their World Cup quarterfinal clash and paved their way into the semifinals. India batted first in Melbourne, after winning the toss, and took control of things with a 75-run opening stand between Rohit Sharma and Shikhar Dhawan (30 off 50). The right-handed opener continued to star of India even as Virat Kohli (3 off 8) was dismissed early after Dhawan’s departure.More Related News
