While Elon Musk's interest in buying Twitter has sent shock waves across the corporate world, he has investments in multiple companies.
The world's richest person, Elon Musk, has offered to buy Twitter for $43 billion. Musk's announcement came days after the Tesla Chief Executive Officer (CEO) had revealed that he owned a 9.2 per cent stake in Twitter. Twitter CEO Parag Agrawal said that the company's board was reviewing Musk's offer. Musk, however, hinted at a hostile bid bypassing Twitter's board.
Musk currently tops the Forbes Billionaires List and Bloomberg Billionaires Index. According to Forbes, Musk has a total net worth of $264.6 billion. The Bloomberg Billionaires Index shows Musk's total net worth at $251 billion.

Musk has already become San Francisco-based Twitter's second-largest shareholder. Musk made the bid on Wednesday in a letter to the board of Twitter and it was made public in a regulatory filing on Thursday. His offer price of $54.20 per share represents a 38 per cent premium to Twitter's April 1 close, the last trading day before his 9.2 per cent stake in the social media platform was made public.
Last week, Musk rejected an invitation to join Twitter's board after disclosing his stake, a move analysts said signaled his takeover intentions as a board seat would have limited his shareholding to just under 15 per cent.
Musk started financing Tesla in 2004. In 2008, he became the CEO of the world's most valuable automaker.
Musk revitalized the space race after he founded Space Exploration Technologies Corp. popularly known as SpaceX in 2008.
