Man stabs Government Railway Police officer in Nadia; probe on

A man stabbed a Government Railway Police civic volunteer on the platform at Kalyani station on Tuesday. The police have arrested the man.
On Tuesday night, a man stabbed a GRP civic volunteer and a constable on the platform at Kalyani station and fled. Later, he stabbed three others, including a biryani trader, at the ITI intersection, which is 3.5 kilometers away from Kalyani station.
The man has stabbed five people in total in the past.
Injured constable, Shovan Ghosh, (44), and civic volunteer Biplob Dutta, (38), are being treated at Calcutta SSKM Hospital.
The other four are being treated at Kalyani Jawaharlal Nehru Memorial Hospital.
Kalyani police arrested the man last night. Later, Ranaghat was handed over to GRP.
According to police sources, the arrested person's name is Yakub Biswas (35).
Police are investigating the case further.
