Man shot dead in parkade of upscale downtown Vancouver hotel

Vancouver police say they are investigating a fatal shooting in the parking lot of an upscale downtown hotel.
According to investigators, a witness spotted the victim inside a vehicle on the third level of the parkade at the Fairmont Pacific Rim hotel at around 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Paramedics pronounced the man dead at the scene.
"This brazen shooting happened in broad daylight at a popular tourist hotel in the city," Const. Tania Visintin said in a statement.
"VPD homicide investigators believe the shooting was targeted. We are asking the public to remain vigilant while we find the person responsible."
Numerous police vehicles were on the scene and the parkade was taped off on Wednesday evening.
