
Man released from jail shot dead in Bengal's Howrah

A 45-year-old man who was recently released from jail was found dead near his residence in Howrah. He was shot dead by miscreants.
A man, who was recently released from jail, was shot dead on Sunday morning in West Bengal's Howrah. The victim identified as Tapas Galui was shot dead by miscreants soon after he left his home.
According to police, the 45-year-old left his home on a scooter and was found dead near his residence. The body was recovered by police and has been sent for an autopsy.
Besides, Galui was known to be a notorious criminal in his locality. According to preliminary findings, gang rivalry is believed to be the motive behind the crime. Earlier, there had been alleged attempts to murder Galui by entering his home.
On Sunday, the miscreant fired five rounds of bullets at Galui. The incident took place in a crowded place in front of Makardaha State Bank this morning under Domjur police station area. A bullet hit his head and four others pierced through his body.
Further investigation is underway.
