A man killed his 21-year-old wife at a lodge in Hyderabad’s Gowliguda area on Saturday night for allegedly having an affair with his brother. Police were also searching for the woman as she had attempted to kill her husband’s brother a month ago and has been evading arrest since then.
He discovered the affair after a case was filed against her at Rajendranagar police station for trying to murder her brother-in-law. Since then, she had been hiding in different lodges with her husband’s help.
However, the accused, identified as Rama Krishna who was employed as a security guard, surrendered after committing the crime, said the police. He confessed that he had killed his wife, Aruna. Officials who reached the lodge found her lying on the cot in an unconscious state. When Rama Krishna was questioned, he stated that he had strangulated Aruna, who was his second wife, using a sari and scarf around 7 pm on Saturday night.
“She had no clue about his plan. He kept her engaged in a talk. However, the couple had a strained relationship for the last two days,” said Afzalgunj inspector M Ravinder Reddy as quoted by the Times of India. “Rama Krishna claimed that as she was in an extramarital relationship with his brother, he decided to kill her,” he added.
After committing the crime, he went to the police station with his one-year-old son and surrendered. A case was registered against him under Section 302 of the Indian Penal Code.
