
Man held for threatening to kill 15-year-old who condemned Udaipur murder

A Kashmir native has been held for threatening to kill a 15-year-old over a post condemning the Udaipur murder.
The Mumbai Police has arrested a 30-year-old Kashmir native for threatening to kill a 15-year-old over a post condemning Udaipur murder. On July 1, she received threat messages from three different numbers on her WhatsApp.
The messages contained sexual assault and murder threats after posting a video on Facebook condemning and expressing her views on the killing of Kanhaiya Lal in Udaipur.
Following this incident, a case was registered against the accused at VP road police station under sections 509 and 506 (2) of the Indian Penal Code on July 2.

DCP Nilotpal of Mumbai Police said, "Acting on technical analysis and other details, a team of VP Road Police station was sent to Srinagar, Jammu and Kashmir. With the help of local police, a 30-year-old was traced using the number he used to send the threat messages."
The accused was identified as Faiyaz Gulam Mohammad Butt, a resident of Budgam. He was then placed under arrest and brought to Mumbai on July 11.
"The accused was brought back to Mumbai yesterday evening and produced before court today in which the accused has been remanded to three days in police custody. Further investigation into this matter is on," said DCP Nilotpal.
