According to the New York Post, Steve was identified by several onlookers who confirmed that he suffered from mental health issues and was frequently seen in the park premises. The incident happened on Monday as Steve managed to climb on the crane shirtless. After a while, he stripped naked and shouted “Are you not entertained?”

According to the New York Post, Steve threatened to jump from the crane multiple times, which prompted the police to keep an inflated platform near the crane. As the crane was lowered, the man was arrested.
