One man has been charged in connection with an incident at the Fort Chipewyan, Alta. airport last Wednesday, RCMP say.
Alberta RCMP said in a news release that they responded to reports of shots fired near the community's airport around 3 p.m.
Police said there were no reported injuries, victims or damage.
In a Facebook post last Wednesday, Mikisew Cree First Nation Chief Billy-Joe Tuccaro told people to stay indoors while the investigation was underway. In an update Thursday, Tuccaro said the lockdown was lifted.
The man is charged with uttering threats against a person, possession of a weapon for dangerous purpose, disguise with intent, use of an imitation firearm while committing an offence and failure to comply with a release order.
Police also said they arrested another man, unrelated to the airport incident, who was on conditions not to be in Fort Chipewyan.
The man is in custody and is scheduled to appear in court on Monday.
Another man was also arrested in connection with the incident but was released without charges.
