DYK Malaika Arora had to be 'cajoled' to attend Alia Bhatt-Ranbir Kapoor's reception? The actress revealed that she felt jittery at the thought of seeing so many people around her after her road accident.
A day after their intimate wedding on April 14, Alia Bhatt and Ranbir Kapoor hosted a reception for their close friends in the industry on April 16. Celebs such as Shah Rukh Khan and Gauri Khan, among others, were the attendees. Malaika Arora too arrived with boyfriend Arjun Kapoor, looking ravishing as always. However, Ranbir and Alia’s reception marked Malaika’s first outing after her road accident. In an interview, Malaika shared that she needed to be ‘cajoled’ to attend the reception and here’s why.
Malaika Arora met with a road accident in April. While the actress-dancer stayed away from the public glare on her road to recovery, she made her first appearance post her accident at Alia Bhatt and Ranbir Kapoor’s reception. In an interview with Bombay Times, Malaika shared that she needed to be coaxed to attend RaAlia’s reception.
Reasoning it out, she shared with the portal, “I feel perfectly fit physically, but my state of mind is still fragile. There is fear, worry and anxiety. It takes cajoling to get me out, anywhere. In fact, it took some cajoling to attend Ranbir and Alia’s wedding bash. More than being in the car, seeing so many people around the car threw me off my game. Now, the minute I sit in a car, I put on the seatbelt, even if I am sitting in the back seat.”
On April 2, Malaika Arora got into a road accident while on her way back to Mumbai from Pune. She was in her Range Rover when her car was caught between two other cars. The driver of Malaika Arora's car lost balance and bumped into the other cars on the expressway. She was hospitalised after suffering minor injuries. Her family, boyfriend Arjun Kapoor and friends stood by her side during her road to recovery.
