During the Bengal Global Business Summit on Wednesday, CM Mamata Banerjee urged the Governor to make sure the “industrialists are not harassed by the central government.”
While addressing a gathering at the Bengal Global Business Summit in Kolkata on Wednesday, Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee asked Governor Jagdeep Dhankar to make sure that "the investors are not harassed by the Central Government."
After a gap of two years, the Bengal CM's summit to bring in investors to the state started with grandeur. The Bengal Global Business Summit saw industrial giants like Gautam Adani, Sajjan Jindal, Sanjeev Goenka, besides the commerce ministers of Bhutan and Bangladesh.
The CM, who was once criticised for driving the Nano project out of Bengal during her opposition days, assured the investors that "Bengal means Business".
She stated that 19 ambassadors were present in the summit while 42 countries participated, including the US, the UK, Korea, Germany and Italy.
Mamata Banerjee also praised the support extended by Governor Jagdeep Dhankar. She said, "I am happy that the Governor joined me here. We appreciate your support. Please always keep doing so."
At the end of her speech, the chief minister urged the governor to see to it that industrialists are not disturbed by (central) agencies.
