Mahindra Scorpio Classic S is priced at Rs 11.99 lakh (ex-showroom) while the top-end Mahindra Scorpio Classic S11 is priced at Rs 15.49 lakh (ex-showroom). These prices are introductory.
Mahindra Scorpio Classic prices have been revealed following its debut earlier this month. The range starts from Rs 11.99 lakh (ex-showroom) for the base variant. There is a single diesel engine option with a manual transmission on offer.
Despite the introduction of the all-new Mahindra Scorpio-N, the company is retaining the older model albeit with Scorpio Classic badging as the company believes the demand for it remains strong. In terms of design, Mahindra has given it a tweaked front grille with the new Twin Peaks logo, a revised bumper with LED DRLs placed above the fog lamps, new 17-inch diamond cut alloy wheels and an updated tail lamp cluster along with a new Galaxy Grey colour option pictured above.
The cabin of the Mahindra Scorpio Classic sports a black-beige treatment and upgraded seat upholstery, although the layout and most of the elements inside have been carried forward as is. Key features on offer include a 9-inch android-based touchscreen, cruise control, automatic climate control, electrically adjustable ORVMs, all four power windows, driver's seat height adjust, second row AC vents and dual front airbags.
Mahindra Scorpio Classic S grade will be offered in a seven or nine seat layout, both getting a second-row bench and side-facing jump seats. The top-end S11 will get two seven-seat layouts - one with captain seats in the second row and a front-facing third-row bench with space for three (claimed) and the other one features a second-row bench with space for three and jump seats behind.
Tweaks have been made to the suspension setup to improve ride quality and reduce body roll. The engine powering the Mahindra Scorpio Classic is the 2.2-litre mHawk Gen 2 unit from the Scorpio-N with 132bhp of max power and 300Nm of peak torque. Power is sent only to the rear wheels via a 6-speed manual gearbox.
The older Scorpio S11 diesel MT was listed at Rs 18.62 lakh (ex-showroom). While the price has come down by more than Rs 3 lakh, the new Scorpio Classic S11 diesel MT also loses out on certain features.
