Allu Arjun's Pushpa: The Rise, directed by Sukumar, is a blockbuster hit. Before Allu Arjun, many celebrities, including Mahesh Babu and Disha Patani had turned down the opportunity to be part of this superhit film.
Allu Arjun's Pushpa: The Rise, directed by Sukumar, is one of the highest-grossing films of 2021. According to reports, the film grossed over Rs 300 crore at the box office and became a blockbuster hit not just in Telugu, but across all languages. What caught everyone by surprise was Pushpa's stupendous run in the North belt. The Hindi version of Pushpa is inching closer to Rs 100 crore at the box office.
Now that Pushpa has become an unprecedented hit, let us take a look at the actors who rejected the film when it was offered to them.
From Mahesh Babu to Disha Patani, Sukumar took Pushpa to many popular celebrities. Due to multiple reasons, they turned down the offer to be part of one of the biggest hit ventures. Here is a list of celebrities who turned down Pushpa.
A few years ago, it was widely reported that Sukumar was supposed to do a film with Mahesh Babu. Even though talks were going on between the two, nothing materialised. Now, reports suggest that Sukumar took the script of Pushpa to Mahesh Babu before approaching Allu Arjun.
If reports are to be believed, Mahesh Babu was not keen on getting a makeover and playing a role with negative shades. Hence, Mahesh Babu turned down the offer to be part of the Pushpa franchise.
One of the most appreciated characters in Pushpa was Srivalli, played by Rashmika Mandanna. Reportedly, Sukumar's first choice for Srivalli was none other than Samantha Ruth Prabhu. It is to be noted that Samantha delivered a knock-out performance in Sukumar's previous project, Rangasthalam, starring Ram Charan.
Samantha, however, rejected the offer due to unknown reasons. The actress still went on to be part of Pushpa and you know how! The makers, especially Allu Arjun, managed to convince Samantha to groove to the viral Oo Antava song from the film.
