Mahavir Chakra awardee and 1971 war hero who bombarded Karachi port passes away

Commodore KP Gopal Rao MVC, VSM (Retd), recipient of Mahavir Chakra and a 1971 war hero, passed away on Monday morning.

Commodore Kasargod Patnashetti Gopal Rao, a 1971 war hero and recipient of Mahavir Chakra, the second highest military decoration of the nation, breathed his last here on Monday. He was cremated with full military honours, an official release said.
