"The state government has declared a public holiday in the state on Monday, February 7, 2022, to mourn the demise of Bharat Ratna Lata Mangeshkar," the Office of Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray said in a statement.

Earlier today, Lata Mangeshkar passed away at Mumbai’s Breach Candy Hospital. She was admitted to the hospital on January 8 after she tested positive for Covid-19. She was under treatment in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) over the past couple of weeks.
