
Maharashta CM Eknath Shinde spots car on fire on highway, stops to help victim

Shinde was travelling with his convoy late at night when he saw a Toyota Fortuner on fire at Vileparle flyover.
A luxury car caught fire on Mumbai's Western Express Highway in the wee hours of Tuesday. Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde, who was passing by around the same time, stopped his convoy and took stock of the situation.
Shinde was travelling with his convoy late at night when he saw a Toyota Fortuner on fire at Vileparle flyover. According to fire officials, the area is a major north-south arterial road in Mumbai.
The fire department received a call about the blaze at 12.25am. Two fire tenders were rushed to the spot and the blaze was put out, said a fire official adding that no one was injured.

Shinde, whose convoy was passing along the opposite road, stopped to help the car passenger. The Chief Minister asked the driver’s name, who identified himself as Vikrant Shinde.
The CM asked Shinde not to go near the car and assured him of all possible help before leaving. A team from Vile Parle police station provided necessary help to the car driver.
