Rebel MLA Eknath Shinde said that the security of 38 MLAs was revoked as an 'act of revenge' by Maharashtra CM Uddhav Thackeray. The state government said that it has not ordered the withdrawal of security of any MLA.
As the political turmoil in Maharashtra deepens, rebel MLA Eknath Shinde has written a letter saying that Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray has revoked the security of 38 MLAs, a charge refuted by Shiv Sena.
Shinde in his letter wrote, "The protection of Shiv Sena MLAs has been withdrawn by order of the Chief Minister and the Home Minister. The government is responsible for protecting them and their families."
Shiv Sena workers vandalised the office of the party's MLA Tanaji Sawant in Balaji area of Katraj of Pune today. Sawant is one of the rebel MLAs from the state and is currently camping in Guwahati, Assam.

However, Maharashtra Home Minister Dilip Walse Patil said that neither the Chief Minister nor the Home ministry has ordered the withdrawal of security of any MLA. He said that the allegations being levelled through Twitter are false and completely baseless. The allegations have also been refuted by Shiv Sena leader Sanjay Raut.
