Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray chaired a meeting with NCP chief Sharad Pawar and other leaders on Friday as the political crisis in the state deepened.
As the political crisis in Maharashtra deepened, NCP Chief Sharad Pawar met Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray met at his residence Matoshree on Friday. State minister Jayant Patil, NCP leader Praful Patel and Deputy CM Ajit Pawar also attended the meeting. The NCP and the Congress are still backing Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray despite the dwindling numbers.
In yesterday's meeting, the NCP leaders raised questions as to how the entire Sena leadership was unaware of dissidents. Furthermore, the NCP leaders also pointed out that leaders who had attended the meeting at Varsha, later went to Guwahati.

"Why was there no reax from workers on the ground?", the leaders wondered.
This came after the political crisis in Maharashtra deepened with rebel MLA Eknath Shinde claiming the support of 38 MLAs.
