Madras High Court suggests changes in school, university syllabus for LGBTQ education of students
India Today
Madras High Court suggested changes in the school syllabus and university syllabus to educate students about LGBTQ.
The Madras High Court in a progressive move in Pride month suggested measures to sensitise people on the LGBTQIA+ community so that they are brought into the mainstream society. This included suggesting changes in the school curriculum to educate students on the same. The court also banned any medical attempts to ‘cure’ sexual orientation. The sensitisation measures are for various branches of the State, including the police and the judiciary. Justice N Anand Venkatesh rendered the judgement on a plea by a lesbian couple looking for protection from their relatives.More Related News
