
Madras HC Madurai Bench to hear Thanjavur student suicide case today

The Madras High Court Madurai Bench will hear the Thanjavur student's forced conversion suicide case today. The parents have asked for a CBCID investigation into the matter.
The Madurai Bench of the Madras High Court will hear the case regarding the alleged forced conversion which resulted in the suicide of a school girl in Thanjavur. The hearing is scheduled for 4 pm.
The parents of the girl have asked for a CBCID investigation into the matter.
The Thanjavur school released a statement saying the management had never intervened with any of the students’ religious beliefs.
They added that they’ve been running the institution for 180 years with the sole aim of educating the marginalised and those to whom education was denied.
The school has agreed to fully cooperate with the investigation. The school also added that it was extremely hurtful to see their work being demeaned based on false accusations.
