After the death of a 12-year-old boy in Villipuram who got electrocuted while trying to erect a flag pole, the Madras High Court has asked the Tamil Nadu government to come up with rules to ban illegal flag posts, banners and flex boards.
The observation was made by the high court while hearing a petition seeking a ban on erecting illegal banners, flex boards. The petition referred to the death in Villupuram district. The boy died while erecting DMK flag poles to welcome state minister Ponmudi.
