A woman and her lover were booked in Madhya Pradesh for selling her three minor daughters.
A 42-year-old woman and her lover were booked in Madhya Pradesh’s Ujjain for selling her three minor daughters. The three girls are aged 12, 14 and 16.
The incident came to light when the three escaped captivity after they were bought by three men. The girls went to their maternal grandfather, who then informed the police about the sale.
According to TOI, the three men who bought the girls have also been booked and all the five accused in the case are currently absconding from the police.

The police told TOI that the couple met in Rewa city and started living together. He then moved the woman and her children to Ujjain’s Tipu Khedi area.
Mahidpur sub divisional police officer RK Rai told the news agency that the couple sold the two elder girls to residents of Rajasthan for Rs 4 lakh each. They then sold the youngest, who is 12-years-old, for Rs 1.75 lakh to another person in Rajasthan and got them married.
All five accused in the case have been booked under sections 370 (human trafficking), 376 (gang-rape) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC). They are also booked under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (Pocso) act.
