Maddock Films unveils ambitious horror-comedy universe, sets release dates for ‘Stree 3’ and ‘Bhediya 2’

Maddock Films expands horror-comedy universe with sequels and new films, including highly anticipated Stree 3 and Bhediya 2.

Maddock Films has announced a slate of eight new films that will expand its horror-comedy universe, including release dates for the highly anticipated Stree 3 and Bhediya 2. The announcement comes as the studio builds on the success of its previous films in the genre, such as Stree 2 and Munjya.

The third installment in the Stree series, starring Shraddha Kapoor and Rajkummar Rao, is set to release on August 13, 2027. Bhediya 2, featuring Varun Dhawan and Kriti Sanon, will arrive in theaters on August 14, 2026.

In addition to these sequels, Maddock Films is introducing new entries to the universe, including Thama (releasing on Diwali 2025), Shakti Shalini (December 31, 2025), and Chamunda (December 4, 2026). The studio has also outlined plans for a larger narrative, culminating in Pehla Mahayudh (August 11, 2028) and Doosara Mahayudh (October 18, 2028).

Producer Dinesh Vijan described the initiative as a way to bring audiences fresh stories rooted in Indian culture. “Our mission at Maddock has always been to innovate and entertain. We’ve crafted compelling characters that resonate with audiences, grounded in India’s rich culture and heritage. This deep connection has made our stories not just relatable, but also meaningful,” he said. Also, with a passionate and devoted fanbase, we’re now setting the stage for something even bigger: a cinematic universe that brings unforgettable characters and their stories to life like never before. We can’t wait to take audiences on this journey through 2028 and beyond – and we are just getting started!”

The announcement marks an ambitious step for Maddock Films, which has seen success in horror-comedy. Building on the success of Stree 2, Munjya, and Teri Baaton Mein Aisa Uljha Jiya in 2024, Maddock Films aims to solidify its place as a pioneer in the genre.
