Lucknow sizzles at 43 degrees Celsius, no respite from heat

The maximum temperature in Lucknow reached 43 degrees Celsius on Monday, making it the hottest day of the season so far. The weather department has predicted no respite from the heat in the coming days.
The severe heatwave along with dry and hot winds continued to sweep across Lucknow, increasing the mercury.
The city recorded the hottest day on Monday so far, with the maximum temperature reaching 43 degrees Celsius. It was five degrees above the normal temperature, the second-highest in eight years in the month of April.
As per the prediction by the weather department, there will be no respite in the heat in the upcoming days.
Meanwhile, Varanasi logged the maximum temperature of 45.2 degrees Celsius and Prayagraj and Kanpur sizzled at 44.7 degrees Celsius respectively.
Hot winds blew in Bundelkhand, making it the hottest city in Uttar Pradesh. The maximum temperature in Jhansi, Orai and Hamirpur hovered around 44 to 45 degrees Celsius.
