The maximum temperature in Lucknow was recorded at 43 degrees Celsius on Wednesday. The capital city has broken all the old heatwave records.
Among rising temperatures across the country, the maximum temperature in Lucknow was recorded at 43 degrees Celsius on Wednesday.
It was among the five hottest cities in Uttar Pradesh. Other cities that witnessed soaring temperatures were Jhansi, Prayagraj, Kanpur, Varanasi 44.4, Sultanpur and Orai.
The capital city has broken all the earlier heatwave records.
The Met department has predicted severe heatwave conditions at isolated places in the state and has issued an alert.
A heatwave is when the maximum temperature is above 40 degrees Celsius and 4.5 degrees above normal and a severe heatwave is when the temperature is above 40 degrees Celsius and 6.5 degrees above normal.
