Lucknow pacers combined to pick eight out of the 10 wickets against Kolkata Knight Riders to earn the franchise a massive 75-run victory. The win took Lucknow to the top of the table.
Lucknow Super Giants pacer Avesh Khan is enjoying his time with the franchise’s pace bowling cartel. Lucknow have one of the best pace attacks in the tournament, housing the experience of Jason Holder, the brute nature of Dushmantha Chameera and two splendid young Indian talents Avesh and Mohsin Khan.
The pacers have done very well together as a unit and were at their very best against Kolkata Knight Riders on Saturday, in the Indian Premier League. The quartet took eight wickets among them, breaking the back of the KKR line-up, winning LSG the game by a massive 75 runs.
The spearhead of the attack, at just 25 years of age - Avesh Khan has spoken highly about the quality that Lucknow have assembled and has admitted that he is really enjoying his bowling with the unit.
“We four have a lovely bond,” said Avesh Khan to the IPL website after the game. He revealed that there is a lot of knowledge sharing between the bowlers which makes life easy in the tense situations of the game - something that has really helped them do well in this edition of the IPL.
“Chameera and Mohsin gave us a very good start today, which reduced the pressure on me. We back each other in all conditions, during the time-outs and we tell each other what we could be trying out there in the middle,” Avesh revealed.
Lucknow Super Giants moved to the top of the table after their win against KKR at a time when the teams have started to decline. Table toppers on the last game-day, Gujarat Titans have lost two games on the bounce, while Lucknow seem to be peaking at the right time with four wins in a row.
