IPL 2022, LSG vs DC: Delhi Capitals captain Rishabh Pant said his team should have got another 15 runs after managing to score only 149 for 3 in their 20 overs against Lucknow Super Giants, who chased the target down in a final over thriller.
Delhi Capitals skipper Rishabh Pant regretted a poor batting performance against Lucknow Super Giants after his team suffered their second successive defeat in IPL 2022.
Rishabh Pant did not want to use the dew as an excuse and said DC should have scored at least 10 to 15 runs more to challenge LSG in what turned out to be a last-over thriller at the DY Patil Stadium in Navi Mumbai on Thursday.
"Obviously, when the dew is like that, you can't complain. But as a batting unit, we were 10-15 runs short. We just wanted to give our 100% till the last ball of the 40th over.
"I think the powerplay was fine, but the main game changed in the middle overs. The spinners bowled well, but we were 10-15 runs short," Pant told the host broadcasters in the post-match interview.

Delhi Capitals have now lost two of their three matches in IPL 2022 and are 7th in the points table, ahead of defending champions Chennai Super Kings, 5-time champions Mumbai Indians and Sunrisers Hyderabad.
Delhi Capitals got off to a good start thanks to an explosive knock from Prithvi Shaw (61), but David Warner and Rovman Powell struggled to get going against a quality LSG bowling attack. Rishabh Pant and Sarfaraz Khan added an unbeaten 75-run stand for the 4th wicket to give the total some kind of respectability.
