CPI and CPI(M) activists protest LPG price hike, demanding government to revoke decision affecting general population and Ujjwala Yojana beneficiaries.
Activists of the CPI and CPI (M) staged protests against the price hike of LPG cylinder by ₹50, here on Tuesday.
The CPI members staged a symbolic protest by making ‘tea’ by using firewood instead of an LPG cylinder to convey the message that the increase in the LPG cylinder price will be a burden on the people.
CPI leader M. Pydiraju demanded the government immediately take back the decision and that the price hike would affect the general population and the Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana beneficiaries.
Women activists from the CPI(M) also protested and raised slogans against the government’s move at Seethammadhara. Carrying empty cylinders on their shoulders, the activists demanded the government to revoke the price rise.
