Low positivity in 4 states fits one WHO criterion to ease curbs, jury out on other metrics

If UP, Bihar, Jharkhand, and Gujarat, which recorded a low test positivity rate (TPR) in the previous week, are able to sustain the same in the current week too, they will meet one of the six guidelines that WHO released in April 2020 for lifting Covid-related restrictions.
Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Jharkhand, and Gujarat recorded a test positivity rate (TPR) of less than five per cent in the previous week-ending May 23. If able to sustain the TPR at this level in the current week as well, these four states will meet one of the six guidelines that WHO released in April last year for lifting Covid-related restrictions.
