Long queues outside vaccination centres in Mumbai, inoculation delayed due to logistical issues
India Today
Covid-19 vaccination centres in many parts of Maharashtra have been witnessing large crowds due to the shortage of vaccines in the state.
Amid the vaccine shortage row, the Brihanmumbai Municipality Corporation (BMC) received one lakh Serum Institute of India (SII)-manufactured Covishield vaccine doses early on Saturday morning. After running out of Covid-19 vaccine doses, more than 70 of Mumbai's 120 vaccination centres were forced to close. Unwittingly, people stood from early morning outside government immunisation centres. Multiple posters on the gate at the NESCO ground's jumbo vaccination centre, where vaccinations begin at 9 am, confused people. While some posters said, "Vaccine is over. We are closed for the day," others said, "Saturday and Sunday, 9.00 a.m. to 5.00 p.m." Among a few randomly placed posters around the huge entrance, another said, "vaccine is free, please do not pay."More Related News
