Long Island beach towns to forbid marijuana sales

Mayors of the Long Island beach towns near New York City’s Queens border say they will forbid the sale marijuana in their communities.
The weed legalization law just approved by Gov. Andrew Cuomo allows local municipalities — cities, towns and villages — to opt out. “I feel strongly about this. It’s a moral imperative to opt out. I’m not going to permit marijuana here. It’s that simple,” said Village of Island Park Mayor Michael McGinty.More Related News
