London police officer facing sexual assault charges

A police officer in London, Ont. has been suspended with pay after being charged with multiple sexual assault offences.
The 25-year old, who has been with the force for four years, is accused of two counts of sexual assault and one count of sexual assault involving choking.
The victim was allegedly in a relationship with the accused and said the incidents took place between August of last year and February. She came forward to report the assaults earlier this month.
Police said they are withholding the officer's name to protect the victim's identity.
The accused is currently suspended with pay and due back in court on June 8.
