Fanshawe College says it is working with London Police to investigate sexually violent and threatening social media posts.
The college released a statement via Twitter late Wednesday afternoon saying the posts were initiated on the social media platform Discord, and spread online.
Fanshawe's statement did not say when the posts were made or exactly what they said.
However, a message sent to Fanshawe Student Union staff on Wednesday said the union was aware of a social media post with "threats to potentially tamper with drinks" in The Out Back Shack student bar and Oasis cafeteria. Both are on campus and operated by the student union.
"Fanshawe College leadership is working with Campus Security Services and the London Police Service to identify the individuals responsible. The posts and users have been removed," Fanshawe tweeted.
The college said it would be providing additional security in those areas on campus.
