CBC
London police arrested a 71-year-old man following an alleged voyeurism incident in the 600-block of Talbot Street that happened early Monday morning.
The incident took place shortly before 6 a.m. when a 26-year-old woman leaving her home to walk her dog noticed an unknown man peering into her bedroom window. The man was directly outside the window looking in, and police say he did not make his presence known.
The woman ran toward the man to prevent him from getting away and started screaming for help, according to police. As her neighbours heard the screams, they came out to help her confront the man, who identified himself before fleeing on foot.
At approximately 11 a.m. the same day, police located and arrested the suspect in the city's downtown core. A 71-year-old man from London has been charged with voyeurism and trespassing at night.
Police say there were no reported injuries.
The accused was released from custody on Tuesday and is expected to return to court in February, 2022.
Anyone with information related to the incident is being asked to contact London Police at 519-661-5670 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).
