Lokayukta Police conduct coordinated raids in Bidar, Raichur, and Ballari districts, uncovering disproportionate assets of officials.
In a coordinated action, Lokayukta Police conducted raids on multiple locations in Bidar, Raichur and Ballari districts on Wednesday.
In Ballari, Lokayukta raided Taluk Officer in the Backward Classes Welfare Department R.H. Lokesh and his associates. His residence at Ramanjaneya Nagar in Ballari city and four other residences belonging to his relatives and associates were raided simultaneously.
As per information provided by Lokayukta Superintendent of Police Siddraju, the police found documents of two plots each valued at over ₹15.20 lakh, a house worth ₹1.25 crore, six acres of agricultural land and other properties.
They also found ₹91,000 in cash, 12.51 grams of gold ornaments worth ₹7.44 lakh, 125 grams of silver jewellery worth ₹25,000, a car worth ₹25 lahk, a bike worth ₹1.5 lahk, other items worth ₹25 lahk, three mobile phones worth ₹1.02 lakh, among other things.
The police said that the assets were disproportionate by 115% to his known sources of income. Mr. Lokesh was not present at home when the raid was carried out.
In Basavakalyan of Bidar district, the Lokayukta raided the residence and office of a Junior Engineer attached to the Minor Irrigation Department Ravindra Hanumanthappa Metre.
The raid was carried out simultaneously at his residence in Donagapur in Bhalki taluk and his office in Basavakalyan.
