Log4j patch is already out but we may still need other security solutions to prevent attacks
India Today
Log4j exploits have been on the rise ever since the discovery of the vulnerability. While organisations need time to update their applications with the fix, cybersecurity firms are coming up with solutions for the same.
More and more attacks are being recorded with each passing hour, attempting to exploit the Log4j security risk. One of the biggest cybersecurity risks ever faced, the Log4j vulnerability discovered on December 9 had already seen more than 8 lakh attacks within the next three days. The clear indication is - the clock is ticking for the world of cybersecurity.
We had explained how the Log4j vulnerability allowed even non-experienced hackers to conduct Remote Code Execution (RCE) attacks on a system. Since the logging library (Log4j) is used in almost every application based on JAVA, the security loophole affects an incomprehensible portion of the Internet. Log4j is hence being called a cyber pandemic, or a "Fukushima moment for the cybersecurity industry" by some.
