List of states shutting down schools, colleges due to Covid-19 surge

In view of the sudden spike in Covid-19 cases across the country, many states have decided to shut down the schools and colleges for the safety of the students.

Many states in India have recorded a spike in the number of Covid-19 cases in the past few days, which has urged them to reintroduce certain restrictions to control the spread of the pandemic, which includes the shutting down of educational institutes. Almost all the schools and colleges had resume normal functioning in the month of February due to the upcoming annual examinations. Since the educational institutes reopened, an alarming number of Covid-19 cases were reported from schools and colleges across several states. Schools across the country were closed one year ago in March due to the spread of the Covid-19 pandemic. Many states have once again shut down educational institutes to protect the students from the virus. Some states have only shut down educational institutes in certain districts.
