Light rainfall, strong winds likely in Delhi in the next 48 hours: IMD

The weather department has predicted light rainfall with strong winds for the next 48 hours in Delhi. But the heatwave is likely to continue in the national capital.
The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted some respite from the heat with a possibility of light rainfall and strong winds on Wednesday and Thursday.
However, the prediction doesn’t rule out heatwaves in isolated parts of the national capital.
On Tuesday, the city recorded its eighth heatwave day in a row with the maximum temperature reaching 45 degrees Celsius in the Siri Fort area.

The maximum temperature at Safdurjung stood at 42.6 degrees Celsius, which was six notches higher than the season’s average.
The minimum temperature was 23.7 degrees Celsius on Tuesday and the humidity stood between 69 per cent to 14 per cent.
The maximum temperature is expected to hover around 42 degrees Celsius and the minimum around 22 degrees Celsius on Wednesday.
