Puri Jagannadh feels the audience has become very choosy after the pandemic. He said, "If they don't like the trailer, they are not going to the theatre."
Vijay Deverakonda and Ananya Panday's upcoming film, Liger, is all set to release on the big screen. Directed by Puri Jagannadh, the movie will be releasing in cinemas on August 25, 2022. Ahead of the film's release, the filmmaker recently spoke about all things Liger in a media interaction. During the interaction, IndiaToday.in asked Puri Jagannadh if he is concerned about Liger's fate at the box office, considering a few Hindi films haven't done well at the box office of late.
Responding to IndiaToday.in, Puri Jagannadh spoke about the scenario of films not working in all the industries. "It is happening in all industries, not just in Bollywood. In the pandemic time, it disturbed the audience. Now, they have become very choosy. If they don't like the trailer, they are not going to the theatre, irrespective of whoever is there [in the film]. It is actually scary," he said.
Meanwhile, the producer of Liger, Charmme Kaur, is confident of the fact that Liger will open to huge numbers in the South and overseas. In a media interaction, she said, "I know Liger is opening to huge numbers down South and overseas. 25th August is a Thursday, which is not a very good day for Hindi films. I am aware of that but it was the decision that was taken because on Thursday, numbers are going to be huge in the South."
Liger also stars Mike Tyson and Ramya Krishnan in key roles.
