Left opposes Kartikeya Singh's appointment as Bihar law minister over kidnap case against him

The Left has opposed Kartikeya Singh's appointment as Bihar law minister over a kidnapping case against him.
The Communist Party of India (MarxistLeninist) Liberation (CPIML), a key ally in the Mahagathbandhan government, has asked Chief Minister Nitish Kumar and Deputy Chief Minister Tejashwi Yadav to review the decision to appoint Kartikeya Singh as law minister in the cabinet.
State secretary of CPIML, Kunal, said that in the backdrop of the ongoing controversy over the appointment of Kartikeya Singh as law minister in the Nitish cabinet, it would be better for the state government to review the decision as his appointment has tarnished the image of the state government.

"The image of the government is tarnished by the appointment of people like Kartikeya Singh in the cabinet. We will be writing to Nitish Kumar and Tejaswi Yadav to review their decision," Kunal, state secretary of CPIML said.
Kunal, however, also hit out at the BJP and asserted that the saffron party did not have any moral right to question Kartikeya Singh's appointment as Yogi Adityanath, chief minister in BJP-ruled Uttar Pradesh, also had dozens of cases against him.
