Lawyer files case against Punjabi singer Mankirt Aulakh for his song defaming legal community

Lawyer Sunil Mallan has filed a case against singer Mankirt Aulakh for his song '8 Raflaan'. The complainant has demanded the song be deleted from all social media handles and platforms.
A case has been registered against Punjabi singer Mankirt Aulakh in Chandigarh District Court. Mankirt’s song ‘8 Raflaan’ offended lawyers, which they claimed, defamed the image of the legal community.
Lawyer Sunil Mallan has filed a case against the singer for his song. The complainant has demanded the song be deleted from all social media handles and platforms.
In the complaint, Mallan mentioned the song “uses abusive, insulting and unparliamentary words against the legal community at large”. He said that the song also “promotes gun culture”.
His song ‘8 Raflaan’ was released in 2021. It has over 230 million views on YouTube.
Mankirt Aulakh is a popular Punjabi singer and music producer. He belongs to Behbalpur village in Haryana’s Fatehabad. Born into a family of Jatt farmers, he moved to Chandigarh after his schooling. He made his debut in the Punjabi music industry in 2013. He rose to fame with his songs like Kaka Ji and Gallan Mithiyan.
