Law students asked to acquire multi-disciplinary knowledge

He was inaugurating the 10th National Moot Court Competition organised by Karnataka State Law University at its campus in Hubballi on Saturday.

Justice B.A. Patil called on law students to take mooting exercises seriously as these would help them in honing their analytical skills, updating their knowledge, cultivating patience and making sensible decisions. He said that opportunities had increased for law graduates and people also had realised the importance of legal profession.

Presiding over the inaugural ceremony, Vice-Chancellor of KSLU C. Basavaraju said that substantial improvements had taken place in the field of advocacy, and the recent trends showed that there was a huge inflow of to the legal profession.

Prof. Basavaraju said that there was a need for restructuring society to ensure that cultural ethos was valued. He called on the students to be honest, acquire professional skills, language skills, knowledge and communication skills.

Registrars Anuradha Vastrad and Prof.Ratna R. Bharamagoudar, syndicate member H. Belagali were present. Around 100 law students from over 28 law colleges from across Karnataka and from Goa, Tamil Nadu, Maharashtra, Kerala and Andhra Pradesh participated in the event.
