“Can you see how long it’s going to take me to get there,” the celebrity stylist Law Roach asked his publicist Sunday night, while seated in the bathroom at the Mark Hotel on New York’s Upper East Side, getting a touch-up in advance of the Tom Ford show.

“No caffeine, no cocaine,” he said. “Just adrenaline, love and passion.”
