Tsitsipas, who crashed out of the US Open 2022 in the first round, defeated Argentina's Schwartzman 6-2, 6-1.
The match at Centre Court turned out to be a one-sided affair as Tsitsipas raced to victory without having to break a sweat.
Tsitsipas broke his opponent’s serve five out of seven times. On the contrary, the German star broke Tsitsipas’s serve only once out of four times.
Earlier in the day, World No.2 Casper Ruud gave Europe a 1-0 lead after beating USA’s Jack Sock in a thrilling three-setter at Centre Court.
Ruud was trailing 0-3 in the third set and the World No.128, Sock, had every chance of pulling off a massive upset. However, Ruud, the runner-up in US Open 2022 and French Open 2022, made a stupendous comeback to win the match.
