Bookings for the New Range Rover SV are now open in India, Land Rover has announced. The vehicle is built by Land Rover's SVO or Special Vehicle Operations, therefore is available with a much more extensive customization experience that one may not find in the regular one. It is powered by the same engines that are available in the standard Range Rover and is available in both standard wheelbase and long wheelbase options along with the five-seat LWB for the first time.
“The New Range Rover SV adds more luxury and personalisation options thus enabling our clients to create a truly individual Range Rover that embodies their own character and personality,” commented Rohit Suri, President and MD, JLR India.
Range Rover SV features exclusive details that set it apart from the standard car, like the five-bar front grille made from smooth ceramics, wood and metal plating, all sourced sustainably. The SV roundel carrying the new simplified SV logo is made up of ceramic, a testament to SVO’s capability and passion for engineering. The car also features exclusive highlights to differentiate it, and new 23-inch forged alloy wheels. Interested customers also get the choice of selecting one of 14 extra colours from the SV Bespoke Premium Palette including Glossy and Satin finishes.
Personalisation is a key aspect of the new Range Rover SV and is in focus when one has a look at the themes on offer. SV Serenity and SV Intrepid design themes, which can be opted for individually for the external body and the interior, or as one overall theme. A total of seven design theme combinations can be opted for, including two-tone front-to-rear colourway options. In the Intrepid, one gets a rectangular perforated pattern for the SV seats, in non-leather Ultrafabrics.
Inside, the personalisation and comfort are pushed to higher levels with the SV Signature Suite that can be opted for only in a 4-seat configuration. The suite adds the electrically deployable Club Table and integrated refrigerator to the Windsor leather/ultrafabric interior. The full-length central console is topped in veneer and ambient lighting and features a touch controller for climate control and entertainment. This is in addition to the standard features of the Range Rover, the Intrepid theme adds exclusive veneers and satin black ceramic controls, anthracite metal plating to the interior for a striking presence while the Serenity theme has a luxurious approach, with Corinthian Bronze and two-tone interior colours.
Power wise, the new Range Rover SV only gets one petrol and one diesel option. The 4.4-litre twin-turbo petrol makes 520bhp and 750Nm of torque and has a 0-100kmph time of 4.6 seconds. The 3.0-litre straight-six Ingenium diesel pushes 350bhp and 700Nm of torque. While the SV is a luxury-oriented custom theme, it sits atop extremely capable Range Rover hardware that is a full-bred off-roading machine with its integrated chassis control, preemptive power and traction delivery, all-wheel steering and Terrain Response 2 system.
Land Rover has not announced the pricing for the SV in its various wheelbase and seating configurations, nor for the exclusive theme packs but rest assured you'll be charged a premium much higher than the base prices of the new Range Rover in India that start at Rs 2.32 crore going all the way up to Rs 3.41 crore (ex-showroom).
