Union Minister of State (MoS) for Home Affairs Ajay Misra (Teni) denied allegations that his son Ashish Misra was driving the vehicle which allegedly ran over protesting farmers in Lakhimpur Kheri, in Uttar Pradesh.Ajay Misra blamed certain anti-social elements who had disguised themselves as farmers for the incident, which resulted in at least eight deaths till 9pm on Sunday evening.Speaking to India Today, Ajay Misra said, "Our volunteers had gone to welcome our chief guest and I was with them. The same time, some anti-social elements attacked the convoy, during which the driver of the car was hurt and he lost balance, resulting in the car turning turtle."On allegations that his son was driving the vehicle, he added, "The program was held in the open and there were thousands of people present during the event, including the administration and the police personnel.
