Shah Rukh Khan's scholarship makes a comeback at La Trobe University in partnership with Indian Film Festival of Melbourne. The scholarship was first introduced in 2019.
Shah Rukh Khan is back with La Trobe University PhD Scholarship in association with Indian Film Festival of Melbourne. The first scholarship was announced at the Festival in 2019 where SRK was the chief guest. He had specially visited the university to launch this program.
Apart from being an actor and businessman, Shah Rukh Khan is also known for his philanthropic work. The actor's scholarship is making a comeback in association with the Indian Film Festival of Melbourne and La Trobe University. The registration for the scholarship started on August 18 and will go on till September 23. The first scholarship was announced at the 2019 festival in which Shah Rukh Khan was the chief guest. La Trobe University expressed that it was their most applied-for scholarship with over 800 applicants. The scholarship was announced in 2019 during the physical event of IFFM. However, due to the pandemic and travel restrictions, it was put on hold last year.
Mitu Bhowmick Lange, director of the festival said, “We all know SRK has a big heart and he has proved it yet again. The scholarship is a life-changing opportunity for a female researcher from India. India is filled with talent and spark and all it takes is to ignite that spark. SRK’s association with IFFM goes back a long time, but now, since it’s for a cause, it makes it even more special. La Trobe University is one of the leading universities in Australia and getting a chance to study at this university has been on the wishlist of many students.”
The top criteria for the selection of Shah Rukh Khan's scholarship at La Trobe University are that the candidate has to be a female Indian national who should be residing in India and must have completed a Masters of Research degree within the past 10 years. The selected student will receive a four-year La Trobe University Full-Fee Research Scholarship.
Shah Rukh Khan was last seen in Aanand L. Rai’s Zero (2018). Up next, the actor has three releases in 2023. Pathaan releases on January 25, 2023, Jawan on June 2, 2023, and Dunki will see the light of the day on December 22, 2023.
