A series of wildfires are searing through the Los Angeles area, forcing many to evacuate their homes.
Here's what happened on Day 2 of the L.A. wildfires:
Officials with the California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection say five wildfires have been declared within Los Angeles County, including the Lidia and Woodley wildfires that started Wednesday.
The other three wildfires -- Palisades, Eaton and Hurst – ignited Tuesday.
The organization says the size of the fires are currently:
Four of the five fires have zero containment, while the Lidia fire is considered to have 30 per cent containment.
At least 70,000 people were ordered to evacuate — a number that kept changing because evacuation orders were continually being issued, officials said. The flames marched toward highly populated and affluent neighborhoods, including Calabasas and Santa Monica, home to California’s rich and famous. Hollywood stars, including Mark Hamill, Mandy Moore and James Woods, were among those forced to flee.
