A 19-year-old boy died by suicide after his girlfriend's family started blackmailing him for money. They threatened to implicate him in a fake rape case if he failed to pay the amount.
A 19-year-old boy died by suicide after his girlfriend's family learnt about their relationship and started blackmailing him for money. They threatened to file a fake rape case against him if he failed to pay the amount.
The incident is from Anjar in Kutch where the victim, Digvijay Singh Parmar, hung himself from the ceiling of his house. He had been under tremendous mental stress after his girlfriend Mehak's family started demanding money from him.
In an audio he recorded before taking the fatal step, he said, "Mehak's mother and brothers have demanded money from me. They said that they would file a fake rape case against me if I didn't pay them. I do not have the money, so I am taking this step."
The victim's father lodged a complaint with the police against the family of the girl who have been absconding.
